Adele

AdeleAdele Mara April 28, 1923 (died May 7, 2010) was an American actress, singer, and dancer, who appeared in films during the 1940s and 1950s[2] and on television in the 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara became her name professionally and she was then offered a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation neededColumbia Pictures [citation required]. Additionally, she had the opportunity to work with the studio's comedy shorts and B-films. In the end, she was shortened to Adele Mara. Mara was the receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire movie You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays the lead female part in Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in which she plays the sister of a falsely arrested and released prisoner. When her Columbia contract expired after which she joined Republic Pictures where she was an regular on outdoor adventures and westerns. She starred in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima where John Agar is the love interestwas played by her, California Passage as well as Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
